Hi Everyone,

I birded Cattail Pond on the Baltimore Annapolis bike trail this evening . Very
few birds but plenty of bugs. Butterflies and Dragonflies . I then made a stop
at the Pond beside Home Depot on Ordinance Road Glen Burnie to see if
anything of interest in the pond . I almost stepped on a Killdeer sitting on a
nest in the very bare dead grass on the opposite side of the pond outside of
the fenced area .This really got the birds stirred up . I had Redwinged
Blackbirds ,Eastern Kingbird and Mockingbird all squalking and trying to take my
head off.Not to mention the Killdeer fussing . There were 2 Mallard in the pond
and Painted turtle and a few turtlettes. Im concerned for the well being of the
Killdeer . It looks as though the grass is being regularly cut here and im
thinking they may not know the eggs are there . If anyone has any
suggestions please let me know .
