Hi everyone,

The YCNH put in an amazing appearance at about 7pm last night (Tues 6/24) in the same area where it was seen this past weekend.? Travel east on Hunting Quarter Rd. from the impoundments, stop at the first parking area, follow the path into the woods to where the standing water is, on the west side of the path.? 3 of us were standing there hoping for the bird (I had been there about 2 minutes) when all of a suddent a shadow passed overhead.? The bird came in for a landing on an exposed tree branch and POSED for us for about 5 minutes.? Very cooperative!? You can see a photo of it at:? www.sarahanderson.net in the "Birds" gallery.? You can also see photos I took of the Great Egrets, including a couple shots of a Great Egret being chased by a Red-Winged Blackbird.? The chase photos aren't in perfect focus but I thought they were entertaining examples of bird behavior.? Enjoy!
