Quick note- I had a great evening with a couple of non-birding friends at
Blackwater and Elliott Island Road. Highlights were all previously reported-
(Elliott Isl.) BLACK-NECKED STILTS, WILLETS, VIRGINIA and CLAPPER RAILS,
MARSH WRENS, and many many Swallows. If you venture out that way, wear long
sleeves and pants unless you can tolerate the barrage of biting insects.

Blackwater was relatively slow, but plenty of Bald Eagles were active. We
arrived late, and the heat was on.

The marshes along Elliott Island Rd was also blanketed with dragonflies. No
net needed- you could stand still for a few seconds and survey your shirt.

I've posted a few pictures from our foray at

Good birding-
