Today on the Thurston Griggs Trail to the Black Rock overlook we
observed/heard the following species:
Wood thrush
Worm-eating warbler
Black and white warbler
Eastern towhee
Pileated woodpecker
While Indigo Buntings were not target species, while sitting on Black
Overlook we had indigo buntings on either side of us, about 20 feet away
singing their hearts out. The backdrop of mountains and trees was
beautiful. If anyone wants a good picture of an indigo bunting with a
dramatic background, this would be a good spot.
