Happy 4th of July everyone!

As a wonderful surprise my husband built me a birdbath/waterfall/pond
in our back yard. Just one problem -- it's turning green. I put snails in,
but I don't think they can keep up. Is there something I can put in that
will take care of the algae but not adversely affect the birds?
