Attempted repost from yesterday...
I went to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in NE DC this (Friday, 7/4)
morning, and again heard the ALDER FLYCATCHER singing from the end of
the short boardwalk (to the left as you walk out). Looks like he's
still hoping that a mate will show up this summer. I wonder how long
he'll continue before he gives up.
No sign of the Yellow-crowned Night Heron, but plenty of other breeders
about. A singing Prothonotary Warbler was a surprise, but otherwise
there was nothing out of the ordinary.
