Greetings,

I have had two different second hand reports of Brown Pelicans in Cecil County waters within the past three days.

The first occurred last Thursday at the North East Town Park. Here a reliable source noted two Brown Pelicans (unknown age) flying and floating near the head of the North East River.

The second report came from a waterman who I know is knowledgeable about the bay's birds. I feel comfortable that he ID is correct. He noted one Brown Pelican in the area of buoy 5 (near Red Point) on the North East River. This bird was seen in flight only.

I spent the past three days boating the upper bay and did not see any pelicans however.

though, I did have a Black-crowned Night-heron this morning at Bay Works Marina (North East River -Hances Point) before I came to work.

Good Birding,
