On the way home from visiting schools in Gambrills, I decided to drive
the back roads back home to Annapolis. The cows were out on S. Cecil
Ave (near the intersection of Churchview Rd). So were the CATTLE
EGRETS. I counted 54 EGRETS, adults and juveniles, lounging about,
foraging, hanging with the cows and perched in two nearby trees.
Pretty impressive sight. Take St. Stephens Church Road East from Rt
301 North. Make a left onto S. Cecil and the flock is on the left
about a 1/2 mile up the road. Can't miss 'em.

Also, yesterday evening while working in my office, a RUBY THROATED
HUMMINGBIRD finally stopped by for a visit. The feeder admittedly was
in need of refreshing. I stopped work and grabbed my two feeders,
cooked up some sugar water and put them back up.

When I began work at 7 in my home office, outside the window I noticed
that the hummer was feasting away. The bird has been visiting all
day. It's about time.

Good Birding,
