Little Blue Herons (imm) Lake Needwood 8/6

Hi all,
     Did a short walk on the upper part of Lake Needwood, had some nice finds. Very birdy on this hot day: 3 Immature Little Blue Herons were feeding near the Needwood Rd bridge, along with 2 Great Egrets. Also lots of butterflies, Monarchs and Swallowtails.
  12 nooon- 3pm
   
  3 Little Blue Herons (immatures, light bill, w/dark tip, greenish legs, dark edge of wingtips)
  2 Great Egrets
  2 Great Blue Herons
  2 Green Herons
  2 Belted kingfishers
  1 Killdeer
  Canada Geese 40-50
  Mallards 30
  Eastern Kingbirds 4-5
  Common Yellowthroat 1
  American Redstart 1 (male)
  Indigo Bunting 1
  Chipping Sparrow 2
  Red bellied Woodpecker 1
  Turkey Vulture
  Black Vulture
  Osprey
  Song Sparrow
  Robins (many)
  Eastern Bluebirds 2-3
  Carolina Wren
  White breasted Nuthatch
  Barn Swallow (feeding 3 fledged young)
  Northern Flicker
