Hi all,
Dennis and Jane Coskren paid me a late afternoon visit here at shop/home in
Woodbine (work related) and brought their good birding luck with them.
Shortly after they left, at just after 5 PM I was standing by the side fence,
binoculars in hand, looking out over the front-side yard at what will eventually
be my "field" (letting it grow up for wildlife). I saw a small bluish-grayish
bird flit into a patch of Black-eyes Susans, then across the driveway into a
neighbors tree. Turned out to be my very first yard Blue-gray Gnatcatcher!
#99. Not an unexpected species, as I thought I should already have seen one
here, just seems an odd month and time for it, but you never know what will
show up if you keep your eyes open!
C'mon fall migration...
Jane and Dennis, have a great and safe trip to S.A. See you when you get
back,
Rick Sussman
