Ospreyers,

I am posting this on behalf of Chris Swarth, Director of Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary, in southern Anne Arundel County.

On July 31, 2008, at the Farm Point area of the Sanctuary, Lindsay Hollister (Naturalist at Jug Bay)
identified an immature White Ibis. She had a very good look at close range and she is convinced that it was a White Ibis. I believe that others with her also had a good look. The bird was perched on a branch overhanging the edge of Jug Bay proper, on the Patuxent River, and at the area we call the River Farm. The bird flew off after a bit, so I have no information on whether the bird is still
in this area. It was not seen today, but I don't think anyone had time to try and relocate the bird.

Folks are welcome to visit the Sanctuary to search for the bird and we will let you and others know if we sight it again.
