Hi Everyone,

I spent Saturday (8/16) birding Calvert and PG Counties with Jim Brighton and Matt Tillett. Birds of note were primarily concentrated around North Beach Marsh:

TRICOLORED HERON--1 juvenile
Snowy Egret--11
LEAST TERN--1 juvenile
Royal Tern--2 adults flying north into AA Co.
Solitary Sandpiper--1
Semipalmated Sandpiper--40
Least Sandpiper--15
Pectoral Sandpiper--2

I understand there has been an immature Little Blue hanging out at North Beach recently, but unfortunately our only sighting was just north at Herrington Harbor in Anne Arundel Co.

About 15 Northern Rough-winged Swallows were present at Piscataway Park.

OK, it's already 3:48 a.m. Time to head back out...

Good birding!

Bill
