Hi all --

A rather quiet day at Rock Creek Park DC -- Barry and I were the only
birders! As we got out of the car at 7:00 AM in the Nature Center parking
lot, we heard the distant but unmistakable yodeling, yipping and howling of
what seemed to be two Coyotes to the NE -- a reminder that they are still in
the Park!

Not to much migrant activity but the highlight was a very cooperative YOY
YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER in the Maintenance Yard vine tangle. Actually
quite a few flycatchers about (mostly Pewees), as well as a smattering of
other migrants:

Ruby-throated Hummingbird 6
Eastern Wood-Pewee - ~15
Great Crested Flycatcher - 4
Acadian Flycatcher - 2
YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER - 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler -3
American Redstart - 4
WORM-EATING WARBLER - 1
Gray Catbird - 12 (numbers are declining)
House Wren - 6
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 7
Chipping Sparrow - 2
Baltimore Oriole - 2

Barry did the area yesterday and had a somewhat different mix, & pretty slow
going:

Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 8
Eastern Wood-pewee - 6
Great-crested Flycatcher - 1
Yellow-throated Vireo - 2
Red-eyed Vireo - 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 2
Ovenbird - 1
House Wren - 10
Baltimore Oriole - 1
