Hi, folks. For the coming hawk watch season, there are still open
days if you would like to join the fun. I especially need someone on
Sundays throughout the season, and on Thursdays in September. We will
have Broadwings passing through next month, so we don't want to miss
out on counting them. I am looking for volunteers for Sundays (Sept.
7, 14, 21 & 28), Thursdays (Sept. 11, 18 & 25), and Saturday, September 20.

Later in the season, I need help on Saturdays (Oct. 4, 18, Nov. 1 &
15), Thursday October 9, and all Sundays.

If you can volunteer for any of those days, please let me know--even
one day will help. We ask that you be at the site by 9 a.m. and that
you stay until noon at least--if it's a good day, you may want to
stay later, and you are welcome to arrive earlier, but we try to have
coverage for those three hours each day.

I hope many of you will be coming out to our kickoff birdwalk. We'll
have a "sneak preview" on Saturday, August 23, to catch early
migrants, and the official start of the Hawk Watch on Saturday,
September 6. We always have a bunch of migrants in the woods and
meadows on our kickoff day. Meet us in the parking light at the south
end of Maryland Route 272 at 7 a.m. for both walks.

Feel free to email if you need more info!
