Hello,

Yesterday when I went out to clean/refill my bird bath, there was a dead
sparrow floating in it. Later in the afternoon, I saw a Mourning Dove
fly from my feeder down to the bird bath to take a drink. I noticed
that it seemed to lose its balance on the edge of the bath but didn't
think much about it. After drinking several times, the bird went into
the bath, I assumed for a bath. But it went head first into the water.
The wings fluttered twice and the body began to float in the water.

I had a dead crow, that fell on my driveway, tested by the State in
2002. It tested positive for West Nile Virus and was the 2nd bird in
our Zip Code (20910) to test positive. The Asian mosquitos are really
terrible this year in my backyard. I am wondering if others are seeing
dead birds? I was hoping we were becoming immune to the virus.
