Like Mikey Lutmerding posted, we got great views of the Mississippi Kites in Piscataway Park near Mockley Point. The birds were viewed from the location described in the earlier post and we got extended views as one bird hunted and glided high over the fields. We also briefly saw a second kite. Other raptors included Osprey and a pair of Red-shouldered Hawks, who occasionally harrassed the kite.

I then kayaked from Wharf Road up Piscataway Creek. The birding was slow, but I can definitely see the potential of birding by kayak along the large marsh up Piscataway Creek. Birds included Great Blue Herons, one Great Egret, Forster's Terns, Osprey, a pair of adult Bald Eagles, Common Yellowthroat, Catbird, a few Ring-billed Gulls, and one juvenile Laughing Gull.
