Hi Group,
   On Monday, Harry Armistead painted a disheartening review of
the once great bird sanctuary at Deal Island.  
   I too, can remember the numbers of moorhens and grebes that
once lived within the embankments.   Birders flocked to see these 
treasures that once nested here in Somerset County.
   I'm not a reputable birder such as those that grace the pages
of the Maryland Osprey, but I can not understand why [with the
support of the environmentally concerned legislature] this great
birding paradise can not be restored back to its grandeur.
   Paradise Lost!
