Hi all --

Barry and I joined other birders at Rock Creek Park DC this morning -- not as much around as we had hoped but as usual, perseverance did pay off w/ some migrants. We started in the Maintenance Yard and then puttered around a bit elsewhere, had a few flocks of birds and a lot of quiet time.

Warblers:

Black-and-white - 4
Blackburnian - 1
Black-throated Blue - 3 (2 at walking sticks)
Blue-winged - 1
Canada - 2 (1 at walking sticks)
Chestnut-sided - 2
Magnolia - 3
Ovenbird - 1
Am. Redstart - 3
Yellowthroat - 1

Other migrants:

Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 4-5 (all in Yard)
Great Crested Flycatcher - 2
Eastern Wood-pewee - 6
Eastern Phoebe - 1
Acadian Flycatcher - 1
LEAST FLYCATCHER - 1 (in walking sticks)
Empid sp. - 2 in Yard, prob 1 was Yellow-bellied which has been hanging around, but not seen well.
Red-eyed Vireo - 6
Yellow-throated Vireo - 1
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 2 (only, big drop in #s)
Veery - 1 (walking sticks)
House Wren - 5
Baltimore Oriole - at least 15, 12 of them together in one flock gorging on porcelain berries in the Yard.
Indigo Bunting - 4 (family party)
