Every night since last Wednesday there have been 30-35 Great Egrets roosting at Jug Bay. I saw one small egret twice that I think is a snowy but it is too late (dark) to tell. They always come in late, at about 7:30 (about 15-20 minutes before dark) and always to the same tree area on the AA side(below the "River Farm" at Jug Bay Wetland Sanctuary).

No other noteworthy sites lately, other than a huge flock of B-headed Cowbirds here Thursday evening foraging in our fields. I tried to count but they were moving constantly and it was hard. When they flushed, the sound of their wingbeat was very loud and impressive! Best effort was 650-675. I tried to look for something different but the only different birds I found in the flock were about 45 starling.

Cheers-
