Mark Linardi, of Northern Shrike fame, had good looks at a Connecticut
Warbler this morning around 8:15 at Cromwell Valley Park (Baltimore
Co., Cromwell Bridge Rd). It was at the start of the "Lime Kiln
Trail."

From the Willow Farm parking lot (the second entrance to the park) it
was about 1/4 mile east along the the Mine Bank Trail (streamside),
then around to the left on the "Lime Kiln Trail." The warbler was in
the brushy area with yellow flowers (wingstem) about even with the
front of the first kiln but on the left side of the trail.

Mark called me, and 4 of us abandoned Milford Mill shortly after
starting. Despite looking all morning, at the appropriate spot and
nearby, we did not see the Connecticut except for a few glimpses of a
skulking shadow in the brush just where Mark first saw it.

Other than that warblers were pretty scarce, mainly a few Magnolias, a
Chestnut-sided and a Yellowthroat or two. At Milford Mill there were
two Blackburnian Warblers, one of which was very bright and
well-marked, Chestnut-sided, Canada, and several Baltimore Orioles,
one of them almost Scarlet Tanager red.
