I'm still waiting to see which one of you gets the first photo of a
tatooed duck's foot! It's been nearly two years since the challenge was
laid down - what are you waiting for? :-)

It seems that whenever a vagrant waterfowl shows up with the dreaded
"origin" question, the practice of clipping hind toes is always discussed.

All live migratory waterfowl possessed in captivity... must be
physically marked using one of the following methods:

4. Tattooing a readily discernible number or letter or combination
thereof on the web of one foot.
