Hi Dan,

Many thanks. However, it appears we managed to sneak past you guys using our Big Day cloaking device. We were in a single vehicle, and of course we drive at reasonable speeds. It's bad juju to run over Spadefoot Toads or Black Rails. We also did find the coveted grackle, so no trade on the Western Meadowlark. :)

While I'm writing, I would like to specifically say thanks to Mike Walsh for the kind logistical support in taking us down the ORV zone. When I asked him what kind of beer he likes, he replied "Anybody's." As Ron Gutberlet is the new guy, of course he is in charge of dispensing all alcohol bribes. I also want to thank Matt Hafner for his helpful input in planning the Big Day. You can't ask for more dedication to a state than Matt's level of involvement here while living in Florida. Thanks, Mike! Thanks, Matt!

Good birding,

Bill
