Hi all,
Did a brief tour of the yard this morning, with little activity. But I did
have a Least Flycatcher in the cherry trees (had one last year around this
time in the persimmon tree), and I caught brief but nice looks at a fall CAPE
MAY WARBLER (#101), either a first fall male or a fall adult female. I never
got looks at the upper back or tail, just the lower front face, breast and
undertail. The bird flew into a cherry tree above me, coming in from the north,
being harassed by a hummingbird (still lots here in the yard, feeding
voraciously). It stayed in the tree really only long enough for me to get a few good
looks before it disappeared.
Saw a nice male Baltimore Oriole, an E. Wood Pewee, and a small flock of
waxwings as well, but not much else, beyond the local breeders, etc.
Have fun out there.
