Enshrouded by mist and blowing rain at 4PM, viewing
the Susquehanna Flats from Havre de Grace yielded
interesting birding but no unusual storm driven
vagrants. By 6:30 the conditions had calmed and
activity increased, including several flocks of
Black Terns working both the flats and Tydings Cove.
The river looked barren by comparison based on
a few stops at 7PM, but Lynn and Jim Just
birded Lapidum earlier and may have more to post.

Semipalmated Sandpiper - 4
Least Sandpiper - 19
Herring Gull ~ 60
Ring-billed Gull ~100
Great Black-backed Gull ~ 50
Laughing Gull - 3 second cycle basic plumage
Caspian Tern - 1
Forster's Tern ~ 125
Black Tern - 32

Cheers,

Dave
