This morning at the Little Patuxent Oxbow Lake Nature Preserve was very slow, few birds were around. The highlights were 4 Blue-winged Teals.

I spent several hours looking in all the nooks and cranies for Trumpeter Swan #960 with no luck. The vegetation is very high and there is a lot of it, so there's a possibility he was there but stayed hidden. My gut feeling says he wasn't there.

The other possibility is that he might be visiting the ponds on the Patuxent Research Refuge as he did in the Spring. If you work there and have access to checking out the ponds, please report if you see Trumpeter Swan #960.

Birds seen/heard:

Red-tailed Hawk
Turkey Vulture
Canada Geese
Wood Duck
Blue-winged Teal
Mallard
Great Blue Heron
Green Heron
Great Egret
Carolina Wren
Blue Jay
White-breasted Nuthatch
American Goldfinch
Tufted Titmouse
Carolina Chickadee
Red-winged Blackbird
