Hurricane Bird Watch - Black Walnut Point - (as reported by Jan Reese).
For seven hours during the day on Saturday, 9/6, Jan Reese watched for
hurricane-displaced birds at Black Walnut Point on Tilghman Island - but
nothing highly unusual showed up.

Driving rain made viewing difficult for much of the time, so birds had to
come close to shore or else they would not be seen.

Highlights:

Terns provided the whole story - with a total of 66 Black Terns giving the
best show. Also present - 22 Royal Terns and around 150 each of Forster's
Terns and Common Terns.

Though some other species were seen after the passing of ISABEL a few years
ago, none of those were found this time.

NEXT DAY - Sunday Morning dawned bright and clear. Several birders tried
for hurricane birds on this day, but none were seen for the time period from
7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
