Thought the recent weather might bring a few passerine migrants to Ft. Bayard Park, but have so far been disappointed. Today brought a nice non-passerine surprise, though; an adult BROAD-WINGED HAWK. Not exactly a rarity for the hawk watchers at this time of year, but a bit more of a surprise to find one perched in the park.
Can finally add this one to my park list--last year a soaring bird missed by just a few yards under my somewhat arbitrary rules for counting birds in the park.
