Hi all,

I just wanted to add that in addition to seeing the bird, we also got to hear this young male perfecting his song.  He was heard singing on multiple occasions in the thick stuff as well as out in the open. I am guessing that this bird holds the record for longest time a migrant Connecticut stays in the open at any given time!

A video recording of its song can be heard at:

Good Birding!

Folks

Mikey Lutmerding called me around 10 AM today to advise he found a Connecticut
Warbler along the railroad tracks near Mason Springs, Charles County, Maryland.
I rushed over to the location and we were able to relocate this highly prized
species. I was able to get images of the hatch year male.

It is a new state photo species for me. You may view the image at
http://www.georgejett.net/?q=gallery&g2_itemId=1392 I hope. JB Churchill
will correct this address if I have it wrong. If I do have it wrong, you can
also go to www.georgejett.net and look at Recent Images to see the two images of
maybe number 372nd species photographed in Maryland by me. I am still learning
this new technology. It is also #290 species photographed in 2008 on my quest
to see if 300 species can be photographed in a single calendar year in MD.

I also put up some other new images on Recent Images for your enjoyment. I
particularly like REVI.dancing.

Enjoy and thanks Mikey.
