9/19 Dave Larkin, Derek Rodgers and I saw an oddly plumaged songbird on the
Towson U. campus. Fairly large, so that we were thinking

about Grosbeaks and Orioles. Bright yellow lower breast and upper belly,
with black streaks. Dull white on the lower belly.

Lots of fairly dull brick red on the breast and head; I didn't notice
distinctive head markings. Bill light gray and fairly long,

more like an Oriole than a Grosbeak. Black wings with wingbars. Derek
found the bird first, and said "I'm looking at a bird I don't recognize."

Because of size, shape and behavior, I'm guessing this was an
aberrant-plumaged immature male Rose-breasted Grosbeak. 4 other RB
Grosbeaks

were seen nearby. The bill doesn't quite fit, but perhaps we got that
wrong.

If anybody has a different suggestion, please let me know.
