Hi Folks!

I spent the morning hiking Indian Creek WMA in Charles County. This are is
located in far eastern Charles, and is bordered on the east by the Patuxent
River and on the south by Indian Creek. The parking area is on the south side
of RT.231 about an miles west of the Benedict Bridge. Water viewing is
limited. Most of the habitat is soybean fields with hedgerows. I was hoping for a
Philly Vireo or Nashville Warbler for my Charles County list. I have not
bold-faced the Connecticut Warbler because it is expected here in this season. I
think it is my 5th for this location.

Connecticuts are very rarely with mixed feeding flocks in woodlands. Usually
I find them while walking in knee-deep weedy areas between agricultural
fields and hedgerows or second-growth woodland. If the adjacent habitat has
towhees and catbirds chances of finding one seems a bit higher. Today's bird
flushed from the edge of a soybean field and landed on a branch at eye-level in
sapling on the edge of a weedy/viney 30-foot wide hedgerow. I got a poor, but
identifiable photo.
