Hi all, just by coincidence yesterday I stumbled upon a recently installed Farm Pond. It is on private Property and I just happened to be there on business. Anyway one of the peeps that was in the pond really have thrown me for a loop. I can't seem to place it. I wanted to call it a White-rumped Sandpiper, but a friend of mine really thru up some great points on why it might not be. Bairds also came to mind and I don't have enough experience in young winter plumage birds nor do I have a real good guide to handle this one. Help would be appreciated with detail why.
Note that the primaries do extend out past the tail. I also added a Savannah Sparrow photograph I took there yesterday. Nice looking birds.

Other birds at the pond were:
Lesser Yellow Legs 12
Greater Yellow Legs 2
Least Sandpiper 6
Killdeer
Spotted Sandpiper 1
Wilson's Snipe 2
Savannah Sparrow 3
