I made a quick visit to the garden plots along Oakland Mills Road after work. A new sign was installed this year identifying them as the Elkhorn Garden Plots. Among the hordes of House Finches and House Sparrows there were two Eastern Phoebes, a Brown Thrasher feeding on pokeweed berries with a half dozen Catbirds, my first Palm Warbler of the season, a male Common Yellowthroat, and two Indigo Buntings, one still with traces of blue in its plumage.
