Hi Everyone,
My fiancee Becky and I walked around the perimeter of Fort Smallwood late this afternoon. New arrivals here were an immature YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER and our first-of-fall GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET. There's usually a small flock of birds working the wet meadow area across from the old battery, and there seems to be quite a bit of turnover. Today it included an EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE, a MYRTLE WARBLER, and a BLACKPOLL WARBLER, the latter two feeding in the goldenrod.
