Hello everyone,
I trust you're enjoy this lovely Saturday. Just a quick note about my
hour at Point Lookout yesterday morning. I enjoyed an hour of
pre-work birding, the highlights of which were a Peregrine Falcon over
the bay, a Common Loon off the jetty in the Bay, lots of Yellow-Rumps
and Pine Warblers and loads and loads of Monarch Butterflies. And I
mean lots. If you're interested in seeing a nice concentration of
them, yesterday was splendid and I imagine that it's still quite good.
Here at home in Annapolis I've had a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird still
dropping by my freshly-cleaned and filled feeders. I took loads of
photos of this bird a short while ago, in the hopes that, well... I'm
still hoping. Odd perching behavior that I noticed: lots of
scratching, preening and this inebriated-looking routine of bobbing of
it's head left to right to left. I'll have to check my nectar recipe.
Was I not supposed add those spirits?
Lastly, FOS Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker has reached Annapolis.
Good Birding,
Dan Haas
