Blue Mash Nature Trail, Zion Road Section, Montgomery County, 4 Oct 08,
0830-1030

A beautiful fall morning at Blue Mash. Did a quick solo walk in preparation
for the ANS field trip that I'm leading tomorrow morning. Bird wise, it was
rather slow. The ponds were at capacity, with Killdeer the only shorebirds
in evidence. The pond inside the fence line did have two Green-winged Teal.
Other birds of note included a flyover Great Egret, Northern Harrier,
Cooper's Hawk, Palm Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, 6 or so Song Sparrows and
a single Swamp Sparrow. Many assorted woodpeckers and Blue Jays flying
overhead.
