Highlights of a walk at Soldiers Delight NEA included four Common Ravens
(finally!), a Northern Parula, 2 Black-throated Blue Warbler, 7
Yellow-rumped Warbler, 4 Black-throated Green Warbler and 4 Palm Warbler
(Yellow). Chipping Sparrow, Field Sparrow and Song Sparrow were also found.
While standing in front of the nature center, Josh Gleason (?), Rudy Benavid
and I spotted four dark birds soaring above a Black Vulture. I balked at
positively IDing the birds because they were very high and continued to
climb. Just as I was about to let them go, as I lowered my binoculars, one
of the birds called once.
