The current feeling is that the birds will move on when weather and their
'internal' mechanisms move them southward. Folks are actually being
encouraged to keep the feeders active through October and November to
attract some of the rarer hummers such as Rufous.

Cheers,
Kathy

I noticed a hummer yesterday also, on a zinnia in my yard.

What is the word on taking away feeders to urge them to move on?

Here it is Oct 5th, and I had a hummer at first light!

They sure are staying late this year.
