I walked around the eastern side of the Mall today. The activity of
note was all in the National Garden, the new garden area west of the US
Botanic Garden building. Mostly centered around the stream in the
middle of the garden, I saw (among the House and Song sparrows) several
Yellow-rumped Warblers and a young White-crowned Sparrow.
   Did I mean to write 'White-*crowned* Sparrow'? Yes I did. I haven't
seen the first White-throated Sparrow on the Mall this fall.
