Came out to look for Rusty Blackbirds and as usual lately I didn't find
any although they had been reported this weekend. The dry conditions don't
help since much suitable habitat is gone until we have heavy rains again.
I checked the impoundments and area to the west to Sycamore Landing
Road. Birds were less common then the last time I was here on Oct 27.
Still a fairly good day with 39 species. Highlights were an AMERICAN
BITTERN in the dog training area, an AM. COOT and 14 RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS.
Eastern Bluebirds were common with at least 15 recorded. Red-bellied
Woodpeckers were calling throughout the area.
