Hi all before the group arrived on Sunday morning [Nov 2 , 08 ] there were several Meadowlark in the cattle pastures before the bridge to the island also near here close to the bridge was a large flock of Goldfinch sitting on ground by road ,fence , powerlines and grasses in the pasture. .My best guess was about 100 birds. I tried looking them over good to look for Siskins. They did not stay long a Sharpshinned hawk was hunting the area . The ones I looked at well yielded nothing but goldfinches . Feel free to send some Siskins down this way.
This morning upon arriving at work at the Wye Research Center near Queenstown Md also not far from Wye Island there was an adult Male Northern Harrier . It landed in a nearby field with some breakfast.
