Hello all.
I walked the north course at Compass Pointe today and found about what I expected...a lot of birds. Had 8 sparrow species along with the other requisite birds for the season. The place is also a reliable spot for finches, but nothing outside of House Finch and Goldfinch turned up today.
Highlights:
Great Blue Heron: 2 at the water trap
Turkey Vulture: 1
Red-shouldered Hawk: 1 being mobbed by crows
Eastern Phoebe: 1
Carolina Chickadee: 7
Tufted Titmouse: 5
Ruby-crowned Kinglet: 2
Golden-crowned Kinglet: 1
Myrtle Warbler: 8 at the brushy edge to the large water trap
Eastern Towhee: 5
Song Sparrow: 5
Savannah Sparrow: 2
Swamp Sparrow: 2
White-throated Sparrow: 18
Field Sparrow: 4 different location than usual
Chipping Sparrow: 3
Dark-eyed Junco: 7
Northern Cardinal: 10
House Finch: 8
American Goldfinch: 15+
