Here's what I got from a birder friend who is very knowledgable about
central and south American birds:

******************
My guess on #1 is immature male Scrub Euphonia. The eastern subspecies,
which is the one in the Yucatan, has yellow undertail coverts, compared to
bright white in the Pacific coast subspecies. Howell and Webb indicate that
the immatures quickly develop adult plumage, which would explain the patches
of blue. The only thing that bothers me is the strong white wing stripe.
It's not mentioned in the book, but maybe all Euphonias have wing stripes?
The photos of #2 are not very definitive. It looks to me like a
plain-winged tanager, which leads me to Summer Tanager, which winters in the
Yucatan. I can't rule out Hepatic Tanager, but Howell and Webb show them in
the cordilleras, so it would be far less likely in the Yucatan than Summer.
