MD Osprey:
I just got a call from Leo Weigant. He is on the shrike that was
previously reported SE of Chestertown and from what he has been able
to see he thinks it's about 75-80% that it is a Northern Shrike.
He could see the longish bill with a hook and a white supercilium. It
was a bit difficult to get the details of the mask to confirm the species.
Directions:
From US 50, take Rt 213 north.
About 4 miles north of Churchill, turn right onto Union Road.
The road ends in just over a mile; turn left on Leverage Road. That
road thens turns into Kibler Road and ends at a T.
From the T, the bird is about 100 yards south, on the west side of
the road, in a couple of trees there.
Good luck!
Phil
