Hi all,

Goucher College (Towson, MD) student (junior/sophomore/transfer
something) here. I'm not new to birding or the area, but when it comes
to knowledge of the local birding areas I've been in the dark! Got
myself to Loch Raven Reservoir this morning (11/6) between 830-11am
along the shore from the Dulaney Valley Rd bridge. I did end up
finding some waterfowl treats (numbers only for highlights/single
birds):
MANY Canada Geese (scattered; didn't count)
~500 American Coot
~75 Ring-necked Ducks
5+ Pied-billed Grebes
5 American Wigeon
5 Gadwall
5 Ruddy Ducks
2+ Bufflehead
1+ Belted Kingfisher
1 Yellow-rumped Warbler
1 Double-crested Cormorant
1 Accipiter sp.
1 Great Blue Heron
1 Black Vulture
1 Turkey Vulture
(...other species seen were Rock Pigeon, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Downy
Woodpecker, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Cedar Waxwing, Carolina Wren,
American Robin, Carolina Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, White-breasted
Nuthatch, Blue Jay, American Crow, European Starling, American
Goldfinch, Dark-eyed Junco, and Northern Cardinal.)
