Near the Skeet Center. What a beautiful day for walking and watching. Nice activity. Of particular interest to me were the 2 SISKINS, 1 PINE WARBLER, and 1 FOX SPARROW. I heard the fox singing and then tracked it down: what a pretty chubby bird it is. I don't know that other people hear it in the way I do, but to me one of its songs resembles a baltimore oriole.
Hardly any kinglets--not many nuthatches sounding off either. Bluebirds, a sharpie, one field sp. I didn't spend much time at the water. It was cool to see a pileated fly through the relatively leafless trees. Reminded me... I recently watched the Fitzpatrick 2-hr talk/slide show done in '05 re the ivory-billed--and then read the compelling Sibley refutation. Good stuff if you haven't already checked it out.
