Highlights (of an otherwise not very birdy day) included:

15-20 crows mobbing a juvenile BALD EAGLE down by the river. The eagle flew
off towards Freedom Park in Carroll County.

Several flocks of Cedar Waxwings (60+) were foraging in top of the tulip
poplars behind the barn.

Saw the first PVSP Winter Wren by a stone ruin uphill from the river. It
came in very close: we had an extended conversation before it flew back into
the brambles.

FOX SPARROW (seen first on Friday) in the scrubland.

Six late CHIPPING SPARROWS joined the bluebirds by the driveway fence. The
Chipping Sparrows here always stay very close to the local bluebird flock,
so I always look for them together.

One of the yard mockingbirds now imitates the whistle that I use to call the
bluebirds for their mealworms!
