Cave Swallow and Brewer's Blackbird Still at Berlin Sewage Treatment Plant, 11/17/08

Two of us saw the Cave Swallow flying around the Berlin STP for at least
half an hour yesterday morning at 9:30 AM.  At times he flew directly
overhead, but mostly flew at the far north end of the pond.  Not sure if
there was more than one or the same one coming and going.  We also had the
Brewer's Blackbird perched up in the reeds in the same pond.  

 

Although we didn't take the six mile hike down the ORV zone at Assateague to
look for the Snowy Owl, we ran into two birders in a 4WD who reported they
had seen the owl about noon time, six miles to the south of the
southern-most parking lot.

 

There was a single Red Knot working the rocks on the OC jetty very close to
the parking lot.
