A tiny bit of Snow Flurry here with strong winds and dropping
temperatures has put the birds into a late afternoon panic. Great
entertainment indeed!

About 50 Cedar Waxwings and over 200 Robins have been running tag-team
races back and forth to the abundant fruit of three crab apple trees right
in front of our deck.

At the various feeders there is an intense parade of House Finches,
Goldfinches, Cardinals and Blue Jays. Sprinkled in are a few Chickadees,
too many House Sparrows, several White-throated Sparrows, one Purple Finch
(male), one Fox Sparrow and one Chipping Sparrow.

Back just a little ways into the woods beside the yard there were at
least nine Rusty Blackbirds - using the most suitable habitat that they
could find on this place.

On the water the two Mute Swans of Leeds Creek came up to our place this
morning. A Belted Kingfisher has been here through the afternoon, along
with a Great Blue Heron, and the normal 50+ Mallards, 2 Blacks, and 100+
Canada Geese.

Most have pulled out now to find night-time shelter, but they certainly
did give a great show. And additional Canada Geese are beginning to come in
for the night.

Keep those feeders full as these chilly days and nights settle in.
