I went up to Lilypons and surrounding areas for a few hrs this morning.

Lilypons had a decent sparrow selection, including FOX and AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS in the vicinity of the first pond encountered heading down the main road. Also present were WHITE-CROWNED, but only half a dozen or so which seems a little low, as well as expected SONG, SWAMP, SAVANNAH and FIELD. I found two MARSH WREN and a female COMMON YELLOWTHROAT in the ponds. Several AMERICAN PIPIT were flyovers.

A large Horned Lark flock in the corn stubble at the corner of Oland Rd and Buckeystown Rd held at least 3 different LAPLAND LONGSPUR. I also saw a SNOW BUNTING when the flock (c 300 birds) flushed. Unfortunately the bulk of the flock did not return and I couldn't relocate either bunting species.

Good birding
