Stream sampling today at SERC. My excuse to go birding on company time :) Didn't spend much time on the 120 foot meteorological tower trying to bird as the wind was howling at 0900. It was quite unpleasant up there! Down on the ground, it was much nicer. Best birds were a single Cackling Goose mixed in with the 130 Canada Geese at the pond near one of the stream samplers, Eastern Phoebe, near the same sampler, and a Fox Sparrow which I caught out of the corner of my eye driving slowly along the back road. I thought it was a Hermit Thrush but was happy to get a Foxy instead.
